Silversun Pickups “Lazy Eye” Certified Platinum & “Panic Switch” Certified Gold Jun 14, 2016

The Recording Industry Association of America has officially certified Silversun Pickups‘ “Lazy Eye” as a Platinum-selling single with over 1-million copies sold, and “Panic Switch” as a Gold-selling single with over 500,000 copies sold in North America.

“Lazy Eye” was the third single released from the L.A.-based band’s debut full-length album Carnavas which was initially released on CD, vinyl, and digital formats on July 26th 2006. The band went on to perform the song on numerous late-night TV shows including The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Later with Jools Holland, and Last Call with Carson Daly, and earned major support from radio stations and TV networks across the nation.

“Panic Switch” was the first single released from the band’s 2009 sophomore effort, Swoon. The song reached #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, and was the first song from an independent artist/label to reach number one in 11 years. The song helped earn Silversun Pickups a Grammy nomination that same year for Best New Artist.
