Swervedriver’s newest single premieres in Stereogum Dec 06, 2018
The latest single from Swervedriver’s forthcoming full-length and its accompanying video have premiered today on Stereogum. Entitled “The Lonely Crowd Fades in the Air,” Stereogum describes the song as having “a gentle softness undercut by the lyrics’ melancholic grandeur. Frontman Adam Franklin’s voice is smooth and calm. And the track’s accompanying video is made up of archived footage overlaid with muted, psychedelic frames of the band.”
Adam Franklin also provides a brief origin story in the article, stating, “With ‘The Lonely Crowd Fades In The Air’ we kept thinking of the Clash even though it doesn’t sound anything like them. It’s like a punch on the nose from a velvet glove. The title came from a misheard Supremes lyric and the words came out of that.”
We couldn’t be more excited to release the Swervedriver full-length Future Ruins on January 25th, 2019. Listen to “The Lonely Crowd Fades in the Air” now and pre-order Future Ruins here.
