The music video for “Doubt” from Delphic’s recently released album Acolyte is now available to watch online.

“With this video we wanted to do something a little darker and different to what we had done before,” says guitarist Matthew Cocksedge. “We really liked [director] Andrew [Huang]‘s work and thought he was the perfect man for the job. Sadly we weren’t there for the shoot, and even more sadly, it is not us in the video, although my blonde curls are coming along quite nicely now. Conceptually, the link is not hard to make, with the physical pieces on the actors growing and growing until being blown away in a blinding light, but you have to leave something up to the audience don’t you….”

Acolyte, the debut album from Manchester, England’s indie/electronic trio Delphic, is finally available in America on Dangerbird Records.

Since debuting at #8 on the UK album charts in January, the album has been earning more and more critical praise across the board. On the brink of releasing their luminous debut album, Acolyte, Manchester sensations Delphic have announced long-awaited U.S. dates in June that will bring the band to New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Previously scheduled to make their U.S. live debut at Coachella, the band was grounded due to the volcanic ash from Iceland and unable to make the performance. With one of the most intense and euphoric live sets on the international festival circuit this year, Delphic are ready to show us what fans and critics in the UK, Europe and Australia have been raving about for the last few months. Acolyte is due out June 29th via Dangerbird Records and is available pre-order now, where you can also download the single “Doubt” for free.

Acolyte was released in the UK at the start of this year and debuted at #8 on the UK album charts. The months leading up to the release saw UK critics buzzing with praise and soon found publications like NME, Q, and The Times of London declaring Acolyte one of 2010’s best debut records, amazing praise given that the record was released just a few weeks into the new year.
